Jessica Walker’s creative writing has been published or is forthcoming in New Letters, Witness, The American Scholar, The Indiana Review, Kenyon Review Online, Black Warrior Review, and elsewhere. She was the winner of Bayou’s James Knudsen Prize and Witness’ Literary Award for Creative Nonfiction. She has received the support of the Bread Loaf Writers Conference, the Elizabeth George Foundation and the Sewanee Writers Conference. Her work has been anthologized in Best Small Fictions and Livingston Press’s Tartts Eight. She is writing her first novel, an essay collection and a collection of linked short stories set in a Southern courthouse. She holds an MFA from the University of Virginia and is an Assistant Professor at Texas A&M International University.
